The Headquarters

In the age of remote work and online meetings, our client sought a beautiful backyard office space. It needed to be separate from the main house yet seamlessly connected with the garden, offering the sensation of transitioning from home to work. The little workspace is positioned along the rear boundary, it’s deck facing the deck of the main house with the garden in between. Glazing between the rafters lightens the roof, providing the compact space with a sense of openness and preventing any sense of confinement. Strategically placed windows frame views of the garden, while diagonal openings facilitate cross ventilation. Despite the limitations of a tight budget and compliance with state regulations, strategic design decisions have resulted in an affordable, elegantly simple space, elevated beyond the ordinary.
